Can I receive and send emails using mMail?
Yes! You will receive mails as normal SMS on your phone. You can send mails using mMail client or using the following syntax on normal SMS:

mMail works on SMS. Our server pulls email on your behalf from your mail account, encrypts it, packages it as a SMS and sends it to your mobile phone. While sending mails, it receives SMS from your phone, packages it as an email and sends it to the receipient.
What do I require to use mMail?
You need a mobile phone, an email id and a net banking account/credit card. And off you go!
Which email services can I access using mMail?
All email services, with some caveats. If you have a Gmail account, you can access mMail by enabling your IMAP access (believe us, its just a matter of 3 clicks to do it!). For a non-Gmail account, you will have to set an auto-forward to a Gmail ID generated especially for you.
What type of mobile devices does mMail support?
100% mobile handsets on both GSM and CDMA networks!
mMail client works on MIDP 2.0 enabled GSM mobile phones only. It will work on all mobile handsets, except Nokia 1200 series. You can always use mMail without any client installation.
When can I use mMail client?
mMail client is a J2ME application, which works on all MIDP 2.0 enabled GSM phones..blah blah blah...in short, it works for all GSM phones except Nokia 1200 series.
What is the length of emails I will receive?
By definition, SMS are Short Messages, limited to 160 characters. If you use mMail client, you can receive up to 800 characters of mail (using our encryption algorithm - mMail Shortening algorithm). If you are not using mMail client, we will send you maximum 3 SMSes per email. We can assure you that you will get the crux of messages even in this short form. At the same time, keep the expectations right.
Will I receive all emails coming to my account?
Receiving constant SMSes can be a pain! You will only receive mails which you have not read. So if you are in front of your PC and checking an email, you won't receive it on your phone. In base price plan, you will receive all mails arriving in your inbox. You can add more mail folders through your settings.
Can I receive attachments or images?
Well, mobile phone is small, has smaller memory and smaller screen. We can't expect great things out of it. But you will receive information on number of attachments.
Yes. There are multiple types of filters available. a) You can choose which mail folders you want to receive (white list), which mails you don't want to receive (black list); b) if you want to receive notifications from Social networking websites; c) whether you want to receive mails from your subscriptions. You can also choose the days (weekend/weekday plan) or time (day/night) when you want to activate the service.
How much will it cost me?
You pay as you use. You will have to purchase email brownies. 1 email brownies = 1 email received. As you use our service, you consume your brownies. In the basic plan, you can buy 250 brownies for Rs. 87.5 (including taxes), which is less than Rs. 3 per day.

I am giving my email and password. How safe are both?
Your password is absolutely safe. It is encrypted before being stored on our server. The server lies behind a secure firewall. All your emails are never stored on our server for more than 15 minutes (to ensure delivery of your mail). After sending the email to you, it is immediately deleted from our server. You emails are encrypted before being sent over the mobile network. Decryption is done by the mMail client installed on your phone.

What are mMail client and client-less options?
You can use mMail without installing anything on your phone. You will receive mails as normal SMS on your phone.

I don't have a Gmail account. How do I use it?
You will have to set up an auto-forward to a Gmail id, generated especially for you. Setting up an auto-forward is a 2 minute thing, provided your email provider is user friendly :-) Please check details of your mail account to understand how it is done.

To enable mMail service on Gmail accounts, IMAP access needs to be enabled on your Gmail account. It is a 3 mouse click process and really simple. Go to Gmail -> Your settings (on top of the page)-> Forwarding and POP/IMAP -> IMAP Access -> Click on Enable IMAP . Read more about it

What is 'setting an autoforward'?
An 'auto forward' rule means that all your mails will be automatically forwarded to a certain mail id. For example, if your mail id is iamstud@yahoo.com and you set an auto-forward to iamdude@indiatimes.com, all mails at iamstud@yahoo.com will automatically be forwarded to iamdude@indiatimes.com.
To set an autoforward rule, it depends on your email service provider. Normally it is a very simple process.
What will happen after I register?
After registration, you will receive an SMS from us stating whether your email id was authenticated. In case the authentication fails, you will receive a new password. Logon the website to change your password.
If authentication succeeds, you can start using our service instantly. Your account will be activated within 1 hour.
What happens if my authentication failed?
You will receive a new password in the authentication failed SMS. Please login onto our site using your email id as login, and new password. Thereafter, you can change your password to your email password. You will again receive a message of successful authentication.
Oops, I gave an incorrect phone number. What next?
This is an unwanted situation as your emails will be sent to another phone! Immediately log on our website and change your phone number.
I chose the client option. What should I do to start?
You will have to install the mMail client on your phone. Installation can be done if you have a data cable, bluetooth or GPRS on your phone. You can download the client from ... Once you install the application, you will be able to use our service without any hassle.
